“Speaking as someone who can only ‘dance’ when he’s been drinking . . . and the sole move being ‘the cholo’ at that, Big City Swing was totally informative. Audra was great, as we learned the modified fox trot over 5 sessions, so we can dance at our wedding and not look like complete fools. She was totally patient, and really encouraging . . . Good times!”

“Jenna was super knowledgeable and her years of dance experience is definitely evident in her teaching…The space was clean and beautiful, easy location in the West Loop. I highly recommend coming here! We felt confident on our wedding night, dancing to two songs, with 3 different turns and two dips. So much fun.”

“I would like to say that the private lessons we are getting form one of your instructors, Jenna Stworzyjanek, have been outstanding. She truly tunes in to my fiancee and I and she has been very professional, very supportive. We have learned a great deal and are having fun.”

“This 3-week class was exactly what my fiance and I needed to prepare for our first dance. We didn’t want cheesy choreography but I couldn’t bear the thought of shifting our weight from side to side, boring our friends and family to tears. Audra and John are upbeat, great teachers, and gave a lot of personalized attention to every couple. The class vibe was so positive, we couldn’t wait to go back for our dancing “high” each week!”

“I wanted to thank you for teaching Lars and me to dance for our wedding. We had a fabulous time and everyone was impressed with our dance skills. I especially appreciate that you didn’t teach us a choreographed dance, but instead taught us moves that we can use time and time again. “

“My fiancée and I just finished a class designed to prepare us for our wedding day’s “first dance”. I should say that I’m all left feet and quite introverted when it comes to dancing, so I was a bit nervous about embarrassing myself in front of all the other couples, but the class made it super easy for anyone to dance. The instructors were simply awesome (Audra, Julee, & Dave), explained every ‘move’ in clear detail, and were jovial throughout. I’d highly recommend this place to any couple looking to drop their “Frankenstein Sway” and really look interesting on the dance floor.”

“My husband and I took both a group swing class as well as private lessons with Julee to prepare for our first dance at our wedding. It was a great experience. We brought a song that we wanted to use and she helped us create a fantastic dance that our guests loved. It was really fun, we had such a good time and we would recommend Big City Swing to friends.”

“Their individual lessons (or in our case private couple) was by far one of the most fun experiences we had leading up to our wedding. Their class times are convenient and they seem to be very accommodating to your needs, as much as possible. The instructors are enthusiastic and realistic while helping you learn how to move to the beat. Even with the hardest of “first dance” songs they made my (now) husband feel comfortable on the dance floor. We both even remembered everything they taught us on our big day. We had so much fun we’re talking about taking a specific style class.
