Come show off your skills at the Taste of Randolph!torfred

It’s one of the best Chicago street festivals, with hands down the best festival food in the city. And once again, we’ve got a double wide booth to help spread the word about swing dancing in Chicago. One half of the booth is dedicated to answering people’s questions and helping them enter to win free dance lessons. The other half of the booth is a dedicated to the dancers and……

Our goal is to have 3 couples dancing at all times during the festival.

Friday, June 18th: 5-8pm, 8-11pm
Saturday, June 19th: 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm, 8-11pm
Sunday, June 20th: 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm, 8-10pm

Click here to make your reservations. Everyone is welcome at anytime. However, we would like to distribute everyone’s efforts and enthusiasm evenly over the three days so that the tent is never empty.

To thank everyone for coming out, dancers who fill our 3 lead and 3 follow spots will earn $10 credit towards classes.

One credit/person will be given each day of dancing.

No partner? No problem

Like classes, we’ll balance the number of leads and follows during the timeslots.

Suggested Attire

Shoes – The dance floor area is smooth but it is cement. A smooth soled gym shoe is probably your best bet.
Clothing – Cotton or linen pants (or skirts and spanks for the ladies) and a T-shirt or two.

Refreshmentstorchillin

We will have water and other “over 21″ beverages in the tent for the dancers. The Taste of Randolph also has the best food of all the summer festivals.

Music

We will be spinning the tunes. You’re welcome to bring your favorite CDs or Ipod and take a turn at DJing for a set.

Location

The tent is right in front of the studio – Randolph between Morgan and Carpenter

Restrooms

Big City Swing will be open during the festival, so you may use the studio restroom.

Parkingtordip

There is street parking on the surrounding streets (although parking on Randolph is prohibited). In addition, the blue line stop at Halsted/grand is about a 10-minute walk to the festival.

Do I have to dance the entire time?

Oh no. We’ll have a chairs under the tent to relax and enjoy good music and great company.

Can I dance for more than two hours?

Absolutely. We are just trying to distribute participants throughout the day so that the dance floor is hoping for the entire festival
