Beginning Lindy Hop

As the third video in the series, this final volume incorporates the technique and steps from the preceeding videos. In addition, this volume introduces the 8-count patterns of the swing out and circle. The video also encourages students to blend both 6- and 8-count patterns into their dancing and provides several examples of how to clearly transition between rhythms. Chris Yee has taught workshops around the world, including the premier Lindy Hop Camp in Herrang, Sweden. Having mastered the fundamentals of leading and following, Chris is famous for his groovin style and amazing creativity on the dance floor.

Julee Mertz founded Big City Swing in 1997. Through performance and instruction, Big City Swing strives to inspire everyone, from the trained dancer to the dance enthusiast, to experience the thrill of Lindy Hop. In teaching workshops across the country, Julee is known for her musicality, fluid movement and dynamic following.

Together, Julee and Chris deliver clear and concise instruction on the concepts of leading and following, the classic movements of Lindy Hop, and the tools to tap into one's own style and creativity.
