Dance Instruction

Big City Swing specializes in working with wedding couples, focusing on swing, modified fox-trot, waltz, and "slow" dancing. Our instruction ensures couples feel comfortable with leading and following each other through a smooth and relaxed dance.

We also help more adventurous couples with their romantic entrances, big "moves" and dips 'n tricks, by concentrating on safe technique and fun styling.

Group Lessons:

Big City Swing has designed a group class specifically for couples preparing for their wedding. Through our 3-week series or 1 session crash course, you will learn:
  • The fundamentals of partner dancing.
  • Several turns to highlight your new skills.
  • How to begin and end your dance with style.
Friends and family are welcome to take the class as well.


Weddings

Wedding Dance 3-Week Series with DVD
Thursdays 8:00 - 9:15 pm - Jun 5, Jun 12, Jun 19

This class is great preparations for couples who are getting married, as well as those who will be attending a wedding soon! We'll teach you the basics of an enjoyable, non-choreographed dance including leading and following, stylish turns and an impressive ending with a dip! At the end of the session, you will receive a copy of our instrucional DVD to take home and practice what you've learned.

This is not a swing dance class. You must register with a partner, and you stay with your partner throughout this class.

Wedding Crash Course with DVD
Thursdays 8:00-10:15 pm - May 29

Too busy to take the 3 week class, but still anxious about your first dance? Join us for our one-night 'crash course' and you'll learn everything you need to wow your family and friends, and each other. At the end of the session, you will receive a copy of our instuctional DVD to take home and practice what you've learned.

Private Lessons

Private lessons offer one-on-one attention from an instructor, working specifically with your first song. This in an excellent opportunity for accelerated learning or handing scheduling challenges, as private lessons are offered 7 days per week.
